we are so happy to use delicious Illy coffee ESE pods...we have no desire to stuff landfills with plastic, un-recyclable K-cups.I usually use ground espresso in my DeLongi machine. Although more expensive, these pods are much more convenient for occasional use. The flavor is very good. Worth it!!These little espresso pods are easy and good. We bought our espresso machine with the intention of actually grinding the beans, tampering them, and making our coffee every morning and I did that (and loved it) for a while. And then we had our baby and I realized that any time I had to make a latte in the morning was not being used wisely by grinding and tampering. I could eat half of my breakfast or brush my teeth with the time it took to do that and clean up. Enter these little pods. They're individually packaged so all I do is open a package, pop it into the machine and make my coffee. Easy, little clean up, and they taste good. The complaint I do have is I can't really make a double shot, but that's not a big complaint when you look at it in the grand scheme of things.I have been buying illy pods for a few years now from Amazon and each time I am peeved at the ridiculously inflated price. But, I like good coffee - and I love illy - so I've been taking the plunge anyway. Firstly, it always takes forever to arrive (I'm talking 3 weeks) - maybe that's because the seller is in the UK (don't they have a US distributor?). The packaging was different from what I've received on previous occasions. The pods were always individually wrapped in foil fresh packets. This time, they came in a metal box which has a peel back foil lid. The pods are all loose inside, so I worry about the freshness once the pack is opened. When I made the first cup, the coffee looked like weak tea (or even cat p....). I then realized it's because the paper around the coffee pod is too big and not cut properly. It almost looks like it's perforated and some coffee-pod-making machine failed and didn't cut the pods out correctly. Now when I make coffee, I have to first trim the paper around the coffee pod section in order for it to work. It's not a big thing but it irritates me that I have to do it when I've paid such a crazy price for this premium coffee. I've since been buying the Baronet Organic Fair Trade Espresso pods and I actually prefer the flavor to illy...Plus, they are individually wrapped and the price is a quarter of the price of illy.Work great, easy to use, taste great!I also have an ESE pod espresso machine. They came with the illy pods, we tried them and they are always a great brew, every time and consistent. The one's we bought here apparently were bad, all I got was the tea like water also, no coffee. Upon calling Amazon found out they had a bad batch, so tried the dark espresso pods and no problems. After reading the first post on the tea like coffee and the user trying to figure out what they were doing wrong, it wasn't them at tall, it was bad pods. I would recommend them in a heartbeat! Hopefully they've gotton this issue taken care of. Also users who are new to the whole "pod" thing, make sure you are using the right filter basket for pods and not ground coffee if your machine does both. And good for people who have access to a machine and will make the process easier, not having to do any grinding, dosing, tamping etc. It is a single shot and tastes OK. If you are used to a double or stronger coffee maybe make 2 or a darker roast. Fits in the single basket of my sage/breville bambino+.You get what you pay for in comparison with other coffee pods. Firstly, taste is relevant to the drinker, I personally drink my coffee black and enjoy the flavour of thesehandy pods. But, in comparison with less expensive pods, these, the water flows through them far better and efficiently.Very good flavour and easy to use. Highly recommendThe paper bags come individually foil wrapped. Swapped my coffee machine from plastic pods to be more e-friendly so these don't work for me. Nice tasting coffee though.Extremely easy to use, no messy coffee dregs, so easy to dispose of and great flavour
