Used these at the outdoor rifle range today. Fit wise they are way better than standard electronic ear muffs which get in the way when you are sighting in an AR. Std ear muffs don't allow you to rest your cheek on the rifle stock as they are too bulky. These are flat to the head & don't disrupt your cheek to stock placement especially if you wear them around the back of your head like Hitcock 45 does. In fact if you check his website it states that he uses a Howard Leight ear muffs band. They have pretty much good sound surpression but they fit too tight in your ear & are a little uncomfortable. The orange tips also come off of the band when you try to remove them during a cease fire. The tips stay in your ear canal while the band comes completely off. You then have to remove the plugs from your ear and place them on the tip holders on the head band. Next time I'll try using just the plugs without the head/neck band, they might work even better & not interfere with your cheek to stock contact.Overall it works pretty good dispite the negative querks. The price is right so I can't complain there. Will have to try it at the indoor pistol range to see if it works there. These keep the noise down really well for working in a shop, the ONLY thing I have against them (and I'm sure it's my ears' fault) is that for ME, after wearing them for a short time, the ear plugs kind of plunger their way into my ear canal a little bit, and when I try to remove them, the ear plugs come off of the plastic frame and I have to take my gloves off to remove them. Not a huge deal, but kind of frustrating that they don't adhere to the frame better. The other thing I would mention - be cautious of the plastic frame. You can put it under your chin, behind your head, on top of your head...but if you have it behind your head or under your chin, it acts like a stethoscope, so you can hear the amplified sound of it brushing against your skin/clothing through the earplugs. Hence, I always wear it on top.Noise cancellation unless you absolutely jam them into your ears. You can still hear yourself breathe and talk, but other people’s voices are diminished a bit. Got them for protecting my ears when vacuuming lint from the actual dryer vent (not the venting pipes). Heed the warning that tapping the headband can cause extremely loud noises in your ears. I will try wrapping my headband in fabric to reduce the headband noises.UPDATE: i read an explanation of the QB1 HYG (not the non-universal icons in the manual) and I had not been using them correctly. They are to be inserted far into your ear. With the subtraction of 1 star for the sound conduction through the plastic arms when touched or struck, I have pumped my raring to 4 stars. They block ALL of the high pitched screaming of the Vacuum’s crevice attachment as I clean the lint from my dryer.Good stuff.I bought these as they are rated at NNR 27 on Amazon. When I used them at the range and shooting a .22LR pistol I was astonished at how loud the report was. I have a couple of pairs of Howard Leight Quiet Band® SHOOTER'S BANDED EAR PADS (NRR 25) and the report using the same pistol and same ammunition is much quieter. Also, when I took the earplugs off, the plugs came off the band and stayed in my ears. The earplugs were put on using the recommended method on the packaging.Ok, once you get these on and in your ears, they do a decent job. I don't think you'll lose your hearing while shooting. But the tips come off way to easily. Many times I've pulled them out and the bud tip was still in my ear. And you do need to push them in your ear for them to work properly. And I get why they didn't glue the tips on, in case you need to replace them. But I'd rather they be glued in. If the tips need replacing, probably best to just buy another one. I don't use these daily. In fact, they are in the side slot of the back door of my truck. I know a well known and loved YouTuber uses these, but they were not my favorite at all. These are comfortable and easy to wear/ easy on and off. They provide good protection.I bought these because they seem to be well reviewed here and other places. Also, looking at them, it looks like more thought went into the design than others with the shape of the plugs and the curvature of the headband. Also noteworthy that there are extra plugs included in each package. These are not as comfortable as I had hoped - neither how the plugs fit in my ears nor the shape of the headband. The most comfortable banded ear plugs I have used are the simple uncurved bands with triangle plugs. I can't find those anymore. These are, however MUCH more comfortable than some other brands I have tried. They are not so uncomfortable to be unusable....that issue alone takes them to a 4 star product. BUT:The plugs do not stay on the band well. I take them on and off frequently and a few times the plug dropped to the ground. Sometimes I noticed right away, others not until I went to put them back on (which sent be looking for the lost plug). A tiny drop of silicone glue inside of the plug has fixed that...but I shouldn't have to glue them in place. These are not bad....but I'll try another brand next time. They do a surprisingly good job of sound isolation, but do conduct a distracting amount of noise when the band contacts clothing, rifle stocks, etc. They are very handy to take on and off, not bulky, and very light. They do not, in my experience, replace the need for plugs and muffs when shooting high power rifles or handguns, or being stationed next to a shooter with a muzzle brake (aka loudener). The price was good, and they fill a definite niche, especially in the dog days of summer, where they work well with hats and caps. I believe they will work well with power equipment also. The muffs and plugs will come out when the boomers are in use, but these will encourage protection when using less energetic devices. By buying the box of 10, the price is less than $4 and I will hand them out to my friends. The description for this item is a pack of 10. I expected to receive 10 of this item. I have received one with a set of replacement foam nibs which was not indicated.Plugs hurt your ears after a few minutes. Very tight in your ears and there is insufficient foam to stop the plastic holders from pushing into your ears. Very uncomfortable. Plugs should be made of foam, not plastic. Not recommended for use beyond 30 seconds. The hearing protection is good. The plugs are easy to put on. But the only draw back is that when the plastic collar rubs against the clothes, it makes noise inside the ears.best plugs available. easy to put in, sits in ear nicely, dampens harmful noise nicely. smoking deal as well, not sure why they were so cheap but I am definitely not complaining!! free shipping too, icing on the cake. happy customer :)Too big for my ears (and my spouse too)
